It is time to pass on your valuable time and experience to the next generation!
This year’s league starts April 13 (boys) and April 14 (girls) and runs to June 23. Don’t worry you are allowed to have other commitments and go on holidays. We will shuffle coaches around to meet YOUR flexibility and schedule! We still want your commitment so IF you are event the slightest bit interested please go to the below link to sign up now!
Here are the commitments and age groups:
U6 Boys & Girls: SUNDAYS 10:00am – 11:00am
Under 8: SUNDAYS 10:00am -11:00am
Under 10: SUNDAYS 11:15am -12:15pm
Under 12: SUNDAYS 12:45pm – 1:45pm
Under 13: SUNDAYS 2:00-3:00 pm and 3:15-4:15 pm & Wednesdays 6:15-7:15 pm or 7:30-8:30pm
Under 15 / Under 18: SATURDAYS 12:30-1:30 pm and 1:45-2:45pm & Thursdays 6:15-7:15 pm or 7:30-8:30 pm
Under 8: SATURDAYS 9-10 am
Under 10: SATURDAYS 9-10:15 am
Under 13: SATURDAYS 10:15-11:15 am & Tuesdays 6:15-7:15 pm
Under 15 / Under 18: SATURDAYS 11:15-12:15 pm & Tuesdays 6:15-7:15 pm
Coaches Meeting TBA. It will be run in two sessions:
1. Under 6 / Under 8 / Under 10 / Under 12 Coaches
2. Under 14 & Under 16/Under 18 Coaches
Note: A Master Coach will typically be at all of your sessions to help you out and guide you and help YOU learn! ALSO EVERY session comes with a practice plan that every team will follow each week! SO, all we need from you is your time and commitment and if you aren’t entirely sure yet – just sign up online and we can be in touch closer to April!

A total conditioning package aimed for the youth field hockey athlete – 8 weeks. Focus on field hockey-specific strength, mobility, stability, speed, acceleration, agility and recovery strategies.
These in-studio sessions are limited to 8 athletes per session, assuring a high degree of supervision.
Only for youth aged 12-17 years.
The strength and conditioning sessions will emphasize the development of strength, mobility, stability, balance and fitness. We will use of body weight exercises, TRX, bands and free weights. Bringing the latest scientific research to practice.
All of our programs are led by exercise professionals with University degrees in exercise science (BSc, MSc and/or PhD) and further professional certifications. If you are considering hiring someone to assist you in your health and fitness journey do not settle for anything less.
This package includes:
once-weekly in-studio workout (Saturday OR Sunday afternoons)
Individual Functional Movement Assessments at the start and after 4 weeks
Corrective exercise prescription based on the results of your Functional Movement Assessment, with online videos to guide you at home – you do this whenever you find the time in your schedule.
Metabolic conditioning and agility prescription for 8 weeks – you do this whenever you find the time in your schedule.
Twice-weekly strength and conditioning workout for 8 weeks – you do this whenever you find the time in your schedule.
All conditioning sessions will be prescribed to work around your practice and game schedules. There is no similar program available in Victoria.
Starts Nov 11th and runs to Jan 5th.
$250 + GST

Have you heard of field hockey? Have you ever wanted to try it? Well now you can and FOR FREE!!
Victoria Junior Field Hockey League is hosting our annual Come Try the Game Free session at Uvic water turf (right beside CARSA) on Sunday, November 25th, 2018 from 3:30 – 4:30pm. If your child is between the age of 5-18, and would like to try a new sport for FREE we look forward to seeing you. Please feel free to bring a friend as well.
Please bring shin pads and mouth guards if you have them. Sticks, balls, coaching and fun will be provided. Sign up at the link below.
This weekend, Oct. 5-7, will be action-packed for field hockey!
The Annual Bridgman Cup high school girls tournament will be on all day from Friday to Sunday. Local teams Oak Bay, GNS, Mount Douglas, Cowichan Secondary and SMUS will all be participating in the 16-team tournament. Friday games run from 10am-6pm, Saturday games are 8am-5pm and Sunday games start at 8am and end with the final at 2:00 pm.

In addition, the Vikes women’s field hockey team are hosting the Legends Cup match up against the UBC Thunderbirds. The Vikes and T-Birds will clash on both Saturday, Oct. 6 and Sunday, Oct. 7 at 11:00 a.m. The Vikes and T-Birds are participating in a school rivalry series across several sports and at the end of the year a new trophy, the Legends Cup, will be presented to the winning school The series will run annually.
